Don’t you hate it when people go on about some TV show you never watched.
But it’s far worse when they neglect to tell you the fact that it’s a TV show they’re talking about.
I once overheard a conversation in a takeaway where two people were talking about some murder and how nobody knew where the body had been buried.
I thought it was a very strange conversation to be having in such a matter of fact manner, then it clicked, it’s not real, it’s TV.
Just witnessed an entire discussion on a work talk group about some person who died. Not wishing to sound disrespectful I politely enquired as to who it was who had died and it turns out nobody had, it was a fucking TV show.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those guys who doesn’t own a TV. I own a TV, and I watch it a lot. But I don’t assume everyone watches the same shows I do and launch into conversations about them without at least warning people.
Also, I don’t confuse real life with TV, oh, except for the Simpsons of course. :-)
