WAP/WML image upload to blogs?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to upload image files from a phone using WAP/WML?

I am thinking of buying a little camera for my phone but it’s not worth if if I can’t upload images to my blog with my phone.

Currently I update my blog using WAP so using email is not a viable option.

Nothing has turned up on google yet, I am beginning to think it’s not possible, but how do the mainstream blogging tools do it?

  1. Did you ever find out if this is possible – I want to do something similar.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

    – One convoluted way would be to send the images as emails to an account – have a program picking up the emails and stripping out the images and then updating your BLOG.

I’m hoping to find a more straightforward way using something similar to a HTML File Upload.

  2. Hi.
I am satisfied that WML doesn’t support file upload.
So I bought a phone that can run Opera so can now do HTML file uploads from it. 🙂

I did explore the email plan, it’s workable but security could be an issue, and it’s all a bit messy isn’t it.

  3. Nokia claims their phones support file Upload via WAP (this is possible at least for the 7250i). This feature is used on the “www.itspixies.com” website.

  4. Thanks for the tip Ben.
I think the 7250i does HTML though, and not just WML.
I wonder if that’s how they do it?

Sadly the only person I know with that phone is on his honeymoon in Peru at the moment.

Will try to test when he gets back.
