Macro photos of shells

Some shells we found on a beach when in New Zealand, subjected to the macro treatment.

Macro photography can give great results, but it takes a lot of effort.

I took about 30 photos over the space of an hour to get the ones below and even then I still wasn’t 100% happy with them.

Things that you can barely see with the naked eye really stand out if they end up in the photo.

The corners of the photo can be annoying too, you can’t really see them in detail until you look at it on a computer screen, but I tend to do that after I have finished. I could stop and proof as I go but it’s quite disruptive to work like that.
